If you want to live more naturally, one important thing is to consider the daily products you use on your skin. Because the skin is your largest organ and capable of absorbing what you apply to it. In today’s modern world there are unfortunately tons of products that contain all sorts of chemicals we won’t even want near our skin.

Some products that often contain such chemicals are ironically skin care products, especially sunscreen. When applying these to your skin, you are exposing yourself to chemicals that are or can be harmful for your health.

In this blog post I’ve collaborated with Suntribe, a Swedish non-toxic sunscreen brand. By choosing to use non-toxic sunscreen and skin-care products, you can reduce your exposure to harmful chemicals and save yourself and the environment from unnecessary toxins.

Suntribe has been so kind to send me some of their products to try and review! In this blog post you can read my honest opinion about them. This can be super helpful before deciding to make a purchase, especially when ordering something online.
I will review their new SPF 50 sunscreen, mineral day cream, after sun balm, body butter and lip balm! Because they don’t only sell sunscreen, but natural beauty products as well!

About Suntribe

Suntribe is a Swedish sunscreen brand founded by three friends that share a love for nature and outdoor activities! They were tired of commercial sunscreens and their harmful effect on nature and human health. So together they created non-toxic and worry-free sunscreen that only contains ingredients that have proven to be safe both for humans and the environment.

Suntribe Active Natural Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50

Suntribe’s mineral sunscreen SPF 50 is a 100% natural and non-toxic sunscreen. It contains non-nano zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which are mineral UV filters that offer an effective broad spectrum protection from both UVA and UVB radiation. It’s very water resistant, unscented and suitable for sensitive skin. Of course it’s also earth friendly and reef safe!

My review of Suntribe Natural Mineral Sunscreen SPF50

First impression: The sunscreen smells very neutral and I enjoy the smell! At first it seems to leave white cast, but that reduced after I rubbed it in the skin well enough. It has a perfect texture: not too runny or too thick, which I often find other non-toxic sunscreens can be.

After a few uses: The first time I used it on my face I used way too much and I became quite white. I noticed that a little goes a long way and that I needed less products than I thought. When I used less, the white cast was greatly reduced. I personally don’t mind a slight white shimmer when I’m on the beach or doing outdoor activities. However, I would’t use this before an event where I want to look my best, because then the white cast would be too much.

After one week: I find this product effective and easy to use! It’s durable and does not wear off easily. I’m impressed that it only leaves a slight white shimmer on my face, when I consider it’s a non-nano mineral sunscreen with SPF 50 (which often tends to have a very whitening effect).

Suntribe Natural Mineral Day Cream SPF 20

Suntribe’s Mineral Day Cream SPF 20 is a 100% natural product. It contains nourishing oils for the skin, zinc oxide for broad spectrum UV protection and rice starch to provide a mattifying effect. This product is non-comedogenic, allergen free and doesn’t contain preservatives, perfume or synthetic chemicals which makes it great for sensitive skin. The lightly tinted formula assures the product blends well into your skin and doesn’t leave a white cast.

My review of Suntribe Mineral Day Cream SPF 20

First impression: The day cream looks quite yellow and I’m a bit skeptical about how it will look on my skin, as previously tinted sunscreens has left me looking orange. It got a scent I find hard to describe, a bit herbal maybe!

After a few uses: I was surprised about how well the day cream blended into my skin! It didn’t look yellow or orange on my skin at all. In fact it evened out my skin tone beautifully and got me feeling fresh and glowy.

After 1 week: I really like this mineral day cream! I now use it in my morning skincare routine, after I rinse my face with water and apply vitamin C serum. The day cream moisturizes my skin without leaving it greasy and most importantly offers broad spectrum UV protection. I love that it evens out my skin tone because I tend to get some redness in my face during the day.

After Sun Balm eucalyptus & jojoba

Suntribe’s After sun balm is 100% organic and contains 5 effective ingredients: shea butter, jojoba seed oil, tamanu seed oil, eucalyptus oil and peppermint oil. These ingredients are all nourishing and soothing for the skin after a sunny day. The product is also 100% natural and plastic free as it comes in an aluminium tin.

My review of After Sun Balm eucalyptus & jojoba

First impression: The texture of the after sun is soft and velvety and smells very natural. The eucalyptus and peppermint fragrance are strongly present, which took a few uses for me to get used to but I now really enjoy!

After a few uses: After spending a few hours on the beach, the after sun felt very hydrating and cooling to my skin. The balm was a tad too hard to rub into the skin at first. But that’s easily solved by leaving it in the sun for a while, which will soften the balm and make it easier to apply! Just don’t forget it in the sun, because the whole balm will melt and get super runny.

After 1 week: One day I lightly burned my shoulders at work and when I got home I applied Suntribes after sun balm. The next day the redness was almost completely gone and my skin didn’t sting anymore! I’m very pleased by the efficacy of the after sun balm and can definitely recommend it!

Suntribe Hemp Lip Balm

Suntribe’s Hemp limp balm is a 100% natural lip balm. It’s completely free from unnecessary chemicals and only contains ingredients that are actually beneficial to the lips. It contains hemp seed oil, myrica fruit wax, candelilla wax, shea butter, coconut oil, vitamin E, lavender oil and peppermint oil. This lip balm is also zero waste with a cardboard stick packaging and biodegradable label.

My review of Hemp Lip Balm

First impression: Easily melts on the lips and smells natural with a hint of hemp oil, lavender and peppermint. After using it once it already feels like it will stay on the lips for a long while! Comes in an easy to use press up paper packaging.

After a few uses: This product is truly durable and I love it! My lips get really soft and feel pleasant long after applying it. It feels like it protects the lips well.

After 1 week: Still love it! I just need a few uses a day and my lips feel soft and hydrated all day long. I enjoy the consistency because it perfectly melts on the lips and stays there. Also the plastic free packaging makes me happy! This is a lip balm I would definitely buy myself as it is natural, durable and effective.

Organic Body Butter coconut & argan

Suntribe’s organic body butter is both 100% natural and 100% organic. It contains ingredients that deeply nourishes the skin and provides long lasting moisture: shea butter, coconut oil, argan oil, cacao seed butter and jojoba oil. This rich and creamy body butter is very nourishing and perfect for dry and sensitive skin. Of course it’s plastic free and free from preservatives, perfume and other unnecessary ingredients.

My review of Organic Body Butter coconut & argan

First impression: Again, I love the convenient and plastic free packaging. The body butter smells very neutral with hint of cacao butter and coconut. It easily melts under your fingers and has a very soft and creamy texture. I also like that there’s no added fragrance, which is great for sensitive skin like mine that otherwise can get a bit itchy.

After a few uses: I absolutely love this product. It smells natural and pleasant, the texture is super creamy, it’s smooth to apply and my dry hands love it! I would buy this product if I run out! The container is also quite big so I’m happily thinking it will last for a while.

After 1 week: Still love it. The body butter is durable, intensely nourishing for the skin and easy to use! This product is truly great for dry skin, especially dry legs, feet, hands and arms! My skin feels soft, supple and protected after using it. However, it feels a bit too greasy on my back, shoulder and chest. But I find that that’s the case with most body butters and prefer a light moisturizer in those areas instead, as my skin is naturally more oily there.

Last Thoughts about Suntribe products review

I know that a Suntribe product is a product that ticks off all my requirements. It’s natural, organic, non-toxic, plastic free and highly effective! It literally makes it one of my favorite non-toxic brands which I feel confident to use and recommend to others. Fun fact: I’ve actually already used their sunscreen for 2 years before this collaboration, and my favorite is a deliciously vanilla scented SPF 30, which has become my to go to sunscreen!

Another great thing about Suntribe is that they think about their shipping and packaging. When ordering something from Suntribe you can assure it will come in a plastic free package.

We shouldn’t have to choose between protecting our skin, prioritizing our health or be sustainable. By using Suntribe products you are sure you choose them all three at the same time!
