Spring is the perfect time go for soft looks that matches the pink blossoms and light green leafs in the scenery. While I love being creative with makeup, I don’t like the effect it has on my skin after use. Regular makeup often contains toxic chemicals that aren’t beneficial to the skin nor our health.

But I don’t like that I have to choose between taking care of my skin or doing my makeup! This is why I switched to organic and natural makeup products. Now I don’t have to choose because I’m doing both at the same time!
While natural make up can be just as effective as regular makeup, it doesn’t contain any of the harmful ingredients that compromise the health of your skin. Instead they contain many skin benefiting ingredients like flower extracts, organic oils and antioxidants.

The Natural Beauty Products I Used – Review
Glimja was so kind to send these over to me so I could try them out and let you know what I thought about them! Here are five of the natural makeup products I used to create this soft spring makeup look.
Hynt Beauty – Sun Prep Broad Spectrum SPF 25 Sunscreen
Hynt Beauty Sun Prep is an organic sunscreen, moisturizer and primer in one. It is a lightweight cream with a silk consistency that primes your face for make up and protects it from both UVA and UVB rays. Hynt Beauty’s Sun prep sunscreen is free from harmful chemicals and nano particles. Instead it is packed with anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants from plant extracts! It contains beautiful organic ingredients like loe vera, sesame oil, pine bark extract, rhatany root extract and green tea. This product is also vegan.
What I think
I love that this product is a primer, moisturizer and sunscreen at the same time. For skin care it is important to wear SPF, but many sunscreens on the market contain ingredients that are endocrine disruptive. This sunscreen is both clean, good for the skin and preps your skin for make up application.
I absolutely loved this sunscreen/primer and how comfortable it is to use and wear! I’m used to wear these super thick natural sunscreens that leaves your face oily and slightly white. But that’s absolutely not the case with this product. I doesn’t leave a white hue and easily sinks into the skin without making it oily.
What I also noticed is that’s a very lightweight product. As I have dry skin, I like to wear some extra moisturizer under it to leave my skin super moisturized before makeup application. It also smells delicious and the scent is only from natural ingredients in the product. The only downside of the product, is that it is on the pricey side. But if you consider that it’s both primer, moisturizer and sunscreen in one + that it’s an amazing products, it’s worth it!
100% Pure – 2nd Skin Concealer (Shade 2 & 3)
100% Pure – 2nd skin concealer is a luxurious and silky concealer colored with fruit pigments. It’s also infused with squalene from olive oil that hydrates the skin. This natural concealer gives a medium to full coverage that looks and feels like second skin. 100% Pure 2nd skin concealer is a lightweight and complexion perfection concealer perfect for spot concealing, highlighting or contouring. It’s buildable and gives a natural and satin finish. This concealer is 100% natural, cruelty free, vegan and suited for all skin types.
What I think
What I noticed about this concealer is that you need way less than you think because of its high coverage. I used to have a concealer that I needed quite much from to get the desired coverage, so I applied way to much the first time I used this one! But I soon discovered that you truly just need a tiny bit. The concealer has a practical applicator to sweep the product anywhere on your skin.
Shade 2 is described to be for light skin with a warm undertone. It was just a tad lighter than shade 3 and indeed had a warm undertone. Even if I consider myself to have a warm undertone, I found this shade a little too warm for my under eyes as it left a bit of a yellow hue. However, it’s now mid winter and my skin is very light now compared to the rest of the year. So this color may be better for summer skin!
Shade 3 is described to be for light medium skin with a neutral undertone. This shade was too dark and yellow for me as under-eye concealer. However, it matched the color on the rest of my face (summertime) which made it perfect for spot concealing and redness. I found that it truly gave a satin finish and didn’t make my skin oily after use. However if you have dry skin like me, I recommend to always moisturize and prime your face well before the application of both foundation and concealer to avoid creasing and cakey looking skin.
Here is a completely unedited picture of how the different concealer shades look on my skin!

Lavera – Liquid Eyeliner Brown 02
Laveras liquid eyeliner in color brown is a budget friendly natural eyeliner. It has a deep brown color that creates beautiful fine lines to accentuate your eyes. It is completely free from synthetic colorants and petroleum based ingredients. Instead this eyeliner contains nourishing and organic ingredients like argan oil, shea butter, cacao butter, olive oil and flower extracts. A natural liquid eyeliner that also is budget friendly.
What I think
I have to be honest, I did not like this product that much. Especially because the applicator was stiff and difficult to use. Also the eyeliner dried very quickly while applying, which made it difficult to adjust mistakes. If you are like me and need to adjust your eyeliner quite a few times to get it even, this eyeliner isn’t practical. I also found that it crumbles and cracks during the day and does not stay on well, especially when it gets in contact with water (or tears). The positive thing about this product is that the color is a perfect dark brown and that it’s budget friendly! If you are looking for a budget friendly, non-toxic eyeliner that is easy to remove, Laveras liquid eyeliner could be for you! Otherwise, I would recommend trying another eyeliner.

100% Pure – Fruit Pigmented Mascara Black Tea
100% Pure fruit pigmented mascara is ultra-lengthening and separates each and every lash. It doesn’t contain any artificial coloring, synthetic chemicals or perfume. Instead the black color is from natural pigments from berries, black tea and cacao. This mascara also contains nourishing ingredients like vitamin E, vitamin B and whey protein extract that really nurtures your lashes. A truly effective, natural and cruelty free mascara!
What I think
I was really excited to test this fruit pigmented mascara as I have heard good things about it. The first thing I noticed while using it was its mild but delicious scent. It literally smells like blueberries! What I also immediately liked was the the slim hour glass wand. It made the application easy and really separated each lash! Not only did it separate my lashes well, but I also found that it both created great length and volume after just one application, which is not always the case for natural mascaras. Also it didn’t clump at all.
For the best result I started the application by the roots and wiggled the brush in a zigzag motion towards the tips of my lashes. For an even more dramatic effect I used a lash curler before application. I find that 100% pure’s mascara really makes my lashes look full and long! The only downside I could think of with this product is that I had some fall out under my eyes when I had mascara on my lower lashes and used oily products on my face. But that’s normal with any mascara I would say (if it isn’t waterproof). Nevertheless this might become my new favorite mascara!

PuroBIO Cosmetics – Lipstick pencil 24 Mauve Pink
PuroBIO’s lipstick pencil is smooth and easy to use. The color Mauve Pink is antique pink with a matte finish. It contains organic coconut oil, natural vegetable waxes and vitamin e which makes the consistency creamy and hydrates the lips. Not only can you used this pencil as a lipstick, but it goes great as eyeshadow and rouge as well! This natural lipstick pencil is perfect when going for a more natural look.
What I think
I immediately liked this product as the color reminded me of a dusty pink MAC lip pencil I used some years ago! If you love MACs lip colors but also want it to be non-toxic and cruelty free, this lipstick pencil is a great alternative. PuroBIOs lipstick pencil is easy to use and contours the lips nicely. The color lasts and doesn’t fade easily either. I also love that it doesn’t dry out my lips, like other matte lip products tend to do.
Another great thing with this product is that you can use it for more than one thing! As this lipstick pencil both goes as lipstick, rouge and eyeshadow it’s a great multipurpose product. The downside of this product that you’ll need to buy a big pencil sharpener as the pencil is a bigger size than usual.
